Another cyber bullying story..

A pervert leaked a topless photo of Amanda Todd, then a group of girls bullied her until she ended up taking her own life. In September 2012, this fifteen-year-old Canadian high-schooler posted a nine-minute black-and-white video on YouTube called  " My Story: Struggling, bullying, suicide and self-harm" . She speaks not a word in the video, instead letting her story unfold through a series of flash cards. She tells of how when she was in seventh grade, a male stranger—after much coaxing—convinced her to flash him her naked breasts during a webcam discussion. A year went by before the same stranger contacted her on Facebook threatening to go public with a topless photo he’d screencapped of her if Amanda refused to perform a live sex show for him on camera. She says she refused, at which point the man sent her topless photo “to everyone.” Amanda claims this sent her spiraling into depression and seeking to blunt the humiliation through alcohol and drugs. Her family m...

Think before Judging

We should never judge anybody just by their small actions they may be fighting with themselves. For instance, most of the times when we see somebody behaving strange or spending most of the time alone we usually make an interpretation of that person being introvert or having attitude without knowing their part instead atleast we should give a try to talk to the one..may be they need some help as many of us do not speak out our situations we are going through specially when there are cases which happens through internet or in our friend circle.  " A small step to that person is much better than creating gossips or spreading rumors."

Another Cyber bullying story: Ashley’s New Website, Unknown to Her

Ashley lives in Littleton, Colorado and has been growing up like any normal western state teen, being influenced by her peers as much as she’s influenced by her parents’ guidance. However, she never expected how invasive the Internet could be without her knowing about it or even having a say in the matter. In Ashley’s case, the bullying that occurred may seem benign, but it had the potential to be far more. Unknown to Ashley at the time, a classmate when she was 11 began taking photos of her. The images were then made part of a portfolio of information posted on the Internet with a fake social media page. The topic was Ashley and the website page was made to look as if Ashley posted everything herself. It was only through friends and third parties that Ashley became aware of the existence of the online information. The data was detailed as well; it included her school name, her home address, her family information, birthdays and more. Worse, all the data was set to be open to t...

Cyberstalking

Cyberstalking is a form of online harassment in which the perpetrator uses electronic communications to  stalk  a victim. Cyberstalking is considered more dangerous than other forms of cyberbullying because it generally involves a credible threat to the safety of the victim. Cyberstalkers may send repeated messages intended to threaten or harass their victim. They may encourage others to do the same, either explicitly or by impersonating their victim and asking others to contact them Manas Bansal 10th A

Harmful Effects Of Cyber Bullying

Research had demonstrated a number of serious consequences of cyberbullying victimization. For example, victims have lower self-esteem, increased suicidal ideation, and a variety of emotional responses, retaliating, being scared, frustrated, angry, and depressed.People have reported that Cyberbullying can be more harmful than traditional bullying because there is no escaping it. One of the most damaging effects is that a victim begins to avoid friends and activities, often the very intention of the cyberbully. Cyberbullying campaigns are sometimes so damaging that victims have committed suicide. There are at least four examples in the United States where cyberbullying has been linked to the suicide of a teenager. The  suicide   of Megan Meier  is a recent example that led to the conviction of the adult perpetrator of the attacks. Another example of harmful effects is the death of Holly Grogan who ended her life by jumping of a 30-foot bridge near Gloucester in...
